Default How to know which was the original engine size?

Hi to everyone,

Is there any way of telling which was the original engine from the vin or Trim tag in a 1969 Camaro?

Vin 3rd digit is 4 so it was originally a V8 but is there any way of knowing which one was it? Trim Tag has a built date of 11A (first week of November).

No H Location code on the trim tag.

Thanks

Fernando

Only way is comparing is by the block stamping, ie, plant, date, and engine code, with the body VIN.

If you could it would make life so much easier. Since all the SS motors were different IF you could tell by the vin what engine came in the car you could prove it was a SS or not. Sadly if you have an a car with a non-numbers matching motor there is no way to know what it was unless you can find a build sheet. Course you can order a build sheet that says anything you want it to say
