Help! Surprising a guy w/ replacement 69 camaro RH mirror
Hey everyone! I've been doing my research to try and find a mirror to replace my guy friend's passenger mirror on his 69 camaro SS for his Christmas present. I think I've determined the original part number that I'm trying to replace is 3914754, but the ones I am finding are quite expensive or they are like $50. I'm sure he doesn't want a $50 mirror.
2 questions:
1. I don't mind spending the money for an original as long as I know he had the original on there before, but is this the original/old one (I know they didn't come off the line with RH mirrors and that they were added later) where the mirror part is missing and/or is this driver side one (with mirror in tact) the original? Not sure if you can tell from the pics or not. But I don't really want to get full blown expensive real mirrors if his aren't even that. ha ha. I think they are, but not sure if you guys could tell me.
2. Even if I could get an original, I'm wondering if I should go for the clear shot mirror instead so that he won't have the awful blindspot I read about. Would you see it as a travesty to put a clearspot mirror on passenger side if you used to have original mirror if you could see better? Anyone get a clear spot mirror and not like it?
Just looking for some insight from other car guys as I literally have no idea and I really want him to love it.
Thanks!
