Anyone have a Side Mirror Replacement Guide handy?

Particularly, how to remove the plastic panel on the door after you remove the triangle where the mirror is.

There should be modification to replace it with cool looking transparent like the 5th Gen Camaro, cause in my car this little spot gives nothing of light at all!
I didnt recognize that there is light until I felt hot coming from that area.
