I have lot of parts to buy, I just realized I also have to buy a lower valence panel for the turn signals. I should have spent the money on standard fenders, with all the parts I now need the money I saved on the fenders wasnt worth it. This is what happens when I do things without first doing some research. Live and learn.

I suppose I could try to sell these and buy new ones. No the car hasnt been painted yet. The grille is broke, lower valance needs work, headlight bezels are ok but someone painted them. So since those parts need to be replaced anyway I should probably just turn it into a RS. Decision, decision. I better sleep on this before I make up my mind. Thanks for your help.

I'm still not following your fender problem. On my car for instance, my headlight buckets mount to the radiator core support to the inside, and to the outside, at the top where the fender bolts to the front nose panel. No special brackets on the fenders for standard headlights. I could use RS fenders, and either cut off the extra side brackets, or bend them back out of the way. By the way, all you have to do to convert standard fenders to RS fenders, is add those side mount brackets. Those side brackets are what the RS headlight door/bucket assemblies attach to, they need extra support. So, I don't understand what's missing on your RS fenders that your old standard ones had?

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I can bolt he bucket to the radiator support. But then thats it no other tabs on the bucket line up with any tabs on the fender. Is the radiator support bracket the only place where the headlightbuucket bolts up?

Did you take your old fenders off, or did someone else? We have different years, so things could be different. Mine mount to the core support, and there's an ear that mounts up high on the fender lip, and one low that bolts to the inner fender. I couldn't find yours, but here's some 69's. See if they resemble yours or not. 69 Camaro Headlight Brackets

Similar but not the same. No I didnt take this apart, I wish I had. I will take pictures tommorrow and post them. Looking at the fender (R/H side) there are 2 tabs on the left, one top one bottom. The headlight bucket has 2 tabs on the left one top one bottom. So looking at this you would think thats where it mounts. However once you mount the bucket to the radiator support, the 2 tabs on the fender are about 2 inches counterclockwise from where the 2 tabs are on the headlight bucket. I hope this makes sense.

You sure you don't have the headlight brackets switched left to right, or were they never removed from the core support?

Is that bucket and bracket shown, from the passenger side? How does it line up on the drivers side instead?
