Front turn signals issues

On a 1969 Z28 Camaro my turn signals only work with the light switch in the off position and are dim?

From: somewhere between va. & wv.

clean all your ground wires. remove battery cable , remove turn signal bulbs. get a plumbers wire brush and clean the socket and the bulb
try running a temporary ground wire direct from the battery to the bulb housing
