Ushuddup.

ok guys, I went with the factory style gauges. I also ordered the VoltMeter to put in place of the AmpMeter. with that and the wiring harness it set me back $495 delivered. I ordered all of it a couple days ago so it should be showing up soon.

Also, my AAW Classic Update Wiring Kit showed up a few days ago, Man I gotta say.... it looks like ALOTSA wires!! should be fun. if anybody wants to help out with the wiring Im offering free room and board while youre here, and the wifes a great cook, just ask ArrowMan.

Prepared Speech written by my Campaign Manager.... "Here I was minding my own business cleaning the speedo, when suddenly the clip popped off and the odometer dropped to the floor. The digits got all mixed up and I honestly couldn't remember what the mileage read, so......" was it 15,332... 26,443... 37,554 or 48,665???

Geeze... I guess I should just set it back to zero and start all over again.

now, heres a mystery question for the guys that know all the special info... obviously we are looking at a 140 MPH speedo which I fell lucky to have since most are 120 MPH. with that said, its lifting around the edges, after closer inspection its a label over a 120 MPH Dial. what gives?? did they come this way from the factory. this is a factory Speedo by all appearances, meaning it looks every bit of 43 years old on the inside. and will it work for me? or is my gear ratio for my cable only gonna work with a 120?

the way I see it.... it could go either way. doesnt really matter to me, I dont plan on runnin over 120, all I need it to do is be accurate from 0-70... Florida Speed Limit.

She is a good cook, let me know when you're going to wire it up and I'll get up there if I can.

Hey, good going on the odometer......Oops!
A 120 and 140 speedo is calibrated within itself to be accurate if you swap one in over another.
Straight up on the 120 is 60 mph, whereas it's 70 on your relabeled one. That throws your speed reading off, assuming your relationship between the rear gears and the speedo gears in the trans is right.
The reasons to have done that would be:
1) a p.o. wanted to have the ooh factor of having a 140 speedo, even though the car can't even go 120 anyway, or
B) they were trying to compensate for the speedo being out of whack after a gear change, or
3) The face of your 120 speedo was crummy looking, so they refaced it to pretty it up and figured hey what the heck, might as well make it a 140, not knowing any better about it throwing the reading off.
