Finally got a 69 and I stole it!
Well I finally got back on the car after 9 months! I was supposed to do the firewall on New Years Day and didnt get to it until this weekend. What can I say, Life happens. Anyway, I think it turned out pretty nice. The dash was warped from the heat so I just picked up a new Dynacorn Dash that I will be welding in over the next few weeks if I can get a free weekend! The Firewall was a huge hurdle for me so hopefully now I can get it all put back together and running this winter. I will post more pics later of some other random parts I have picked up. Its been so long that I will have to re-learn all this posting stuff! Glad to be back.

I wanted to post a couple of pics of a few parts I picked up recently. I'm still trying to learn how to actually put the pics in the post instaed of these thumbnails you have to click on so bear with me if I dont get it right. I met a local guy running around town in a sweet 69 through a mutual friend that owns a local detail shop. I ask if could put me in touch with him, we met up, he had a few parts he was gonna put on Ebay but gave me a sweet deal on them instead. I got the Dash Pod with working gauges, wiper switch and Clear Gauge Covers for $100. The A/C Heater Control for $50 and a new Grill for $100. He was heck of a nice guy. I told him he could obviously get alot more online but he said he'd rather see a local guy get his car on the road. I guess there are still a few good guys left. Anyway... here goes with the pics.

WOOHOO!!! I've finally got it!! Ok, from now on all my progress pics will be like this so they are easier to check out. Here are the two from this weekend that I put up last night, I just want to see then live and in person on the post. The firewall was rough but I think we got it looking pretty good now. Thanks for your comment 5speed502, I was off to a great start until New Years but I'm back on it now. Just trying to keep up with all the other hard working Camaro Guys (and Gals) on here.

Thanks guys... I stressed over it. Tried to go the extra mile during prep. My next thing to do in a couple of weeks is weld in the new Dynacorn Complete Steel Dash. Wondered if anybody has any suggestions or advice. I picked up one of those "Spot Weld Cutter" bit things. I tried it out just for GP... It's says its a body mans best friend, I couldnt get it to drill out one spot weld and theres what 30 or so across the top?? Anyway, I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Going out of town thursday for a week and a half. I'll be dying to get back to my Camaro the whole time I'm gone. By the way orocker, yours has come a long way since your first post. Cant wait to see it finished, looking great. Thanks for the nice comments.
Making a little progress again so here's a couple of before and after pics (hope they work, It been a while and I have to re-train my self how to post pics everytime). I wanted to go with something other than Chevy Orange so I decided to paint the engine Satin Black, I think it turned out pretty good. It's been like Christmas around here with all the boxes showing up lately. Kinda nice to make something look like new for a change. My new Hooker Headers should show up any day. We will be painting the sub frame soon and then the Motor can go back in. Life is good when progress is being made.
