fender top turn indicators question

fender top turn indicators question
I am working on a friends 68 rs-ss wiring harness. This car came with turn signal indicators on the top front of the fenders. I have tried testing these on the bench and have not been able to get them to light. My wiring diagram does not show them. Does anyone know where I can find some additional information on this option?
Thank you in advance!

The monitoring option works by using a fiber optic cable.
Shine a flashlight in one end and view the other end of the cable.
No electricity flows through the cables, just light.
The front cables plug into the light connectors.
The rear cables do the same and end up in a 'panel' just behind the back seat on the deck plate.
You can view the rear indicators in the interior rear view mirror as they flash for a turn.

Thank you for the reply! I understand the fiber optics working, just did not expect to find it on a 68.... The fiber lines have been cut and we are missing what they connect to. Are there after market pieces available? If so can you point me in the right direction to look?
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

The cables are one piece from the light plug to the indicator, whereever the location may be.
The front ones for headlamps plug into the socket in the middle of the two wires.
The other front ones plug into the side of the reflector of turn signals.
Headlamp monitor is on the inside indicator and turn signal monitor is on the outside.
The rear cables plug into the light socket, as all of them, the FO cable slides into the sockets or a hole in the reflector and each cable has its own grommet for protection going through the wall of the reflector, and heaslamp has a grommet to plug/slide into the light socket.
I have not seen any atermarket pieces, maybe ebay, but they are expensive, supply & demand.
