Engine swap questions
I am putting my old 396 from a 69 camaro (pulled it to replace with a matching numbers engine) into my 74 blazer that had a 350 in it. The oil lines in the blazer do not match up to the engine, and I need new bracketry for the power steering pump. Do any of you know where I can get these parts?

I don't remember a big block going in a Blazer. But Chevy did put the 454 in Suburban's, which is basically the same under the hood as the Blazer. And both the 396 and 454 should share the same accessories, unless the 396 heads are minus a mounting hole or two. You might want to look on ebay for Suburban accessory parts.
And what "oil lines" are you referring to, for an oil cooler?

Yeah,a big block pickup or Suburban at a wrecking yard.
I don't think they put any 454s into 4X4s but there is not much difference in the 2X4 and 4X4 so it should be simple.
I have a '78 pickup 3/4 ton 4X4 with a 454 but it was converted before I bought it.
Is your Blazer a stick or auto? my truck has a cooler but it's for the auto trans,if you are running a big block and an auto you want a trans cooler and a big radiator,an oil cooler is not really necessary.

The 4X4's never got big blocks to my knowledge, they had the 400 small block as the big engine option,I had a '78 Jimmy (GMC's version of the K5) with the 400.

That would be a NPT (National Pipe Thread), not a standard SAE bolt thread. Don't know the size though. You can get a plug at your local hardware store, in the plumbing section. Just bring in the old fitting to size it to. And make sure you wind some teflon tape on the threads so you don't get a leak.
