difference between RS and SS

Default difference between RS and SS

what is the difference between a 69 RS and a 69 SS which is better

The most notable differance is the headlights. Also the bagdes. Otherwise the differances are small. Which is better depends on your preferance. SS was a performance package whereas RS was more of a 'looks' option. You could get an SS or an RS or even a combination, kown simply as SS/RS... there was even a Z28/RS package available.

IMHO depends on what you like best. RS (rally sport) was nothing more than an appearance package and SS (super sport) was a high performance option which included a bigger engine, more hp of-course and also included an appearance group unique to the SS, but there was also the option of picking both RS and SS options for the same car.
I am sure you will get a lot better (more knowledgeable) answers to your question in the hours to come, but I am giving you the basics.

These guys hit it right on the nose! RS was all about looks while the SS was all about performance. I love the hideaway headlights but still have the need for speed! I would opt for the RS/SS. Perfect combination!
