Default Decoding Carb Numbers

I am trying to understand the carb numbers and am having a tough time. I am working with a 7037213 and 7037203, which is a quadrajet carb for a 1967 350 Camaro with AIR and MT. There is anadditional 4-digit number on the body next to the 7-digit number, which the literature indicates is the Julian date. The first three numbers are supposed to be the date and the last one is the year, except the year never seems to fit (i.e., its never a 7). I've looked at several of these carbs.

Anyone have an idea about the 4-digit number and what it really means?

You didn't say what the last number was on your date code. The first three digits are for the numbered day of the year (example 031=the 31st day of the year, January 31). The last digit is the assembly year. Are you possibly seeing a "6" as the last digit? A carb built later in the 1966 year, like a little before August on up, would have been installed on a 1967 model year car. New model cars would usually come out sometime in August, so early production 1967 models would have 1966 date coded parts.

Camaro69, thanks for your response.
The date code numbers are 3482 on one carb and 3001 on the other. Both are 7037213 carbs which are 1967.
None of these Julian dates ends in a 6 or 7.

???
