Default Can I Paint Dist and Coil?

Folks,

I have a new MSD Pro Billt Dist and a Blaster 2 coil and I'm trying to keep the car looking stock just with the better equipment. I don't want the engine compartment to start looking like a hot rod.

So my question is is there any issues with spray paining the dist cover and the coil Black to appear stock with some high temp paint?

Thanks!

Although it would look better with an original black dist. and coil. The guts are what makes the new stuff better. Don't even think about trying to swap guts and casings. Your best option is to paint. Worst case is the paint starts to flake ( I am assuming you will only paint what would be visible). The trickiest part is finding the type of paint that will adhere best to your surface. I would call/email the manufacturer and ask them. Some surfaces require primer but others do not.

But them again the worst it will do is flake.

You can purchase plastic paint just about anywhere paint is sold. I know they have it at Walmart and Home Depot. I wouldn't imagine it would need to be "high temp" paint. If those parts got hot enough to burn the paint they would melt.
