Broke my hood, help!!!!

1969 SS, I don't know about the discrepencey in price, and sometimes you do get what you pay for, but folks also overcharge as much as they can. The Matt's Classic page has a set for $625. are they that much better than any of them? $625 for hinges. Do they come with Playmates to install them?

that would be like comparing a base model 6 cyl Camaro, to a Big-Block SS car. big difference in price but still the "same" car
I have a set of original hood hinges that are in good shape if your interested you can email me at jim_leslie@emcorgroup.com I'm in the final stages of my restoration and have extra parts.

bought some parts from a place called www.camarocentral.com and the parts seemed to fit real well, just trying to give more options.
If the truth is to be told on these parts, here is my take. The repop hinges are built to the same specs (size) as the originals. This does leave questions as to the quality of the steel. Our supplier has assured me they will stand behind their parts. Dealer cost for repop is under $30. We have had repop and G.M. hinges side by side, it is difficult to tell one from the other if you don't know what to look for. To date we have had zero problems with reproduction hinges. A friend in GM parts has told me the price of the original parts is inflated. Sellers hide behind the GM name and know car owners will pay for the name itself.
