Welcome Microgiant. Not to change the subject, but that's a nice X22 you got. IfI had a project Camaro, it would definately fall into that category or X77/X33 Z-28... Is the drive train still in tact?

Hi Frostlime69 and thanks for the welcome!

I have the original M20 trans and 12 bolt rear. The factory 396 was swapped to a 427 at the dealer early on. The original owner was the dealers son. After that motor fried he (or the 2nd owner who was a friend) put in a 1974/75 Counter Exchange454. Thats what Im going to run in it for now. Its now stroked to 489 and Im in the process of getting some AFR heads for it. The car has a lot of history and Im doing my best to maintain that. Except for the motor I want to put it all back to original. I will be removing the rear spoiler to save the Easy Money painted on the back thanks to a tip from Jeff who owns the "Better of Dead" camaro. I was planning to just paint over it! what was I thinking! BTW The car has been sitting since 1983.

Back to the topic: There are a lot of people complaining about the change to Ricks. Im bummed out that I never got to order anything there before the change. I was planning on ordering my complete interior there now Im not so sure.

I recently had to buy most of the sheet metal for my 67. We made the body shop a Goodmarc dealer and got a 20% dicount on parts. However we were told they were american made. Not true. most came from overseas. Looked at Dynacorn, same thing. Goodmark had best prices with discount and anything over $5000. was free shipping so that helped. Good fit decent material, some dings in the new panels, nothing major. Some pieces were on back order for two months so we just ordered from Classic industries, and if they din't have them we went to Matt's Classic Bowties ( highly recomend Matt's) awsome service and support. Thanks Kim and Matt. Check your shipment over very close whoever you get from.

Change?
Yes Ecklers has bought out Ricks. And made some unpopular changes. Rather than keep things the same.

I found great service and parts through Steve's Camaro's and Firewheel Classics. Folks at Firewheel Classics(distribute out of Texas) always give acall to make sure I received parts ok and ifthe parts are in good condition after shipping. Nevergot that service from Ecklers. Eckler's alway's would rush a sale and wouldbeirritated if I did'nt buy. I also heard good things about Matt's Classic Bowtie's from other 1st Gen Camaro owners at local car shows. Check'in them out next.

Thanks for all the info guys. we have been getting all our body parts from NPD. My guy says after checking everyone else out he finds the best over all price and quality thru them. And so far everything has been fitting together very smoothly. but I will check out some of the other places that you all have listed. I still need the roof and door skins and all of the front end.

As you probably already know from my thread "New sheetmetal for my '69" I went to Classic Industries. It seemed to work out fine for my project.
