best way to lower the rear of a 69 2 inches?
What is the best way to lower the rear of a 69? Anyone running the aftermarket lowered rear leafs? I currently have mono leafs rear springs. Debating whether to have the local spring shop de arch them or spring for a new set of aftermarket ones. Currently have 265/50/15 on 15X8 Corvette ralleys
Thanks

the single leafs dont have a centering bolt on the springs for the block to center itself, and the bottom of the rear axle mounts dont either. I have a set of the universal Bell Tech blocks with the center pin on top and hole on bottom. If anyone has used blocks on a single leaf setup, would be interested to know what blocks you used.

Loering blocks between the axle and perch iof i can recall.

any extra space between the axle and spring is ging to cause unneeded tension on the drivetrain and you also run the risk of changing the pinion angle too much, sort of like the way 4 wheel drive trucks do it the other way. lowering blocks are no better to drop a car, than big spring shackles or air shocksare to raise a car
if you want to get good handling out of it, you want a multileaf de-arched spring. mono leafs are mainly for the track

I would also like to say something else about lowering blocks. they aren't totally a bad thing. they are usually fine to use, with no sacrifice in performance, if you limit them to about a 1/2"
now with that being said, I need another beer[sm=alcoholic.gif]
