best place to sell engine
At the end of this month I'm dropping in a new 383 stroker in my 67, the engine I currently have is a Chevy 400 sb. I'm going all new setup under the hood, so I've been looking for a place to sell the current setup, everything goes and it's all running. The only place I can seem to find is craigslist to list it for sale, are there any better places to list a fully operational engine?

The 400 should be a easy one to sell. Up her the circle track guys like them for the TQ they produce in a small package. Truck pullers like them also and any one that want a upgrade from a 350/377/383 would be glade to get their hand on one. Not sure why you wanted to go down in cu. in. but its your call. Not sure what they bring down their but up here the going price is $150 for a builder to $400 for a very good stock runner.

You should have no problem selling it on craigslist, and you want a (somewhat) local buyer. ebay would spread your exposure further, but then a non local buyer would have to pay shipping and you'd have to pallet the engine. That engine's not worth the extra cost to ship.

i'll be honest, i don't know how much i should ask for, but i was expecting more than a few hundred bucks. It's a completely running engine, with carb, alternator, etc... and is in good shape and clean. looks like craigslist is the way to go, but i'm bumping the price up see what happens. thanks for all the advice!
