Best battery for '67 w/396
I have an Optima red top in my 1967 camaro with a 396. Last night it read 100% on my Optima charger. When I tried to start this morning... nothing. I got 10.76 volts on my multimeter. I hooked the charger back up and at first it read 25% then jumped to 75%. I hooked my jump start box up and it fired right up. So it looks like it's time for a new battery, this one is about 4-5 years old. What is everyone else using? What is the best brand, or is Optima it?
Thanks,

I have never had long life from a AGM type battery, Johnson Controls makes most of the "store brand" batteries. Walmart generally has cheaper $. Mine was $49
I prefer Interstate so get them at Costco now
I also switched to a 78 series side post as IMHO a cleaner look and direct bolt in for 1st gen. Bought #2-gauge AC Delco cables (search by cable length) from Amazon

Consider getting a battery tender if you don't drive it on a regular basis, the battery in my car has been in it since before I bought the car 6 1/2 years ago and it always fires right up.
I also keep one on my Harley, bike batteries are notorious for only lasting a couple of years, the bike is 3 1/2 years old now with over 20K miles and it fires right up.
