Default Battery going dead

Battery was going dead and checked and replaced with new battery. Then new one goes dead in two weeks, went from 12.6 volts to less then 1 volt. Purchased basic Digital Multimeter, not great at using. But watched some U tube videos. I have disconnected the neg cable and placed the leads on the meter on the battery post and the cable, with everything off and doors closed. I have a reading of .23 with dial at 20M and a reading of 6.7 with dial set at 200m. (red cable on meter is set in 10A post) With dial set to 10A, reading is 2.57.
Question does this mean I have a drain on the battery and a short or another bad battery?.
I understand that anything over 50 milly amps shows a short.
Is the reading of .23 or 6.7 relates to milly amps?
94 Camaro Z28, Auto.
Thanks

Note, in two weeks that new battery went dead, car in was not driven was sitting in garage. Also I have checked alternator and the volts are correct when turning on A/C or lights it goes to 14 or so volts.

I gave up looking for the problem and just put a trickle charger on mine.

Sounds like you have a drain somewhere, small drains are okay for a vehicle that is constantly driven, but just as bad for one that sits weeks at a time. Voltage with the car running should be in the 13.5-14.5 range. Anything below that and the battery is not being charged. Anything above and the battery is being overcharged. The occasional high voltage is okay if it has sat, so long as it goes back down.

get your meter on it and start unplugging fuses and relays. see if you can find it that way

Sounds like you have a 2 amp draw.

Disconnect the lighter and retest, also glove box lights another one that is common. Bother the element and the lighter base are common failure points. The process to track it down after that is not to bad.

Thanks for the input and ideas. I have removed the fuses from the fuse box under the hood, one at a time, and the draw did not change. Next I will do the same with the fuse box on the side of the dash. Thanks again..

Good suggestions given.
You might view Camaro in the dark and see if any lights are on, as mentioned, glovebox and ashtray.
Aftermarket stereo hooked up correctly?
Any aftermarket device hooked up correctly?
When you disconnect alternator BATT wire, the large red wire, does amp draw go down?
Yes, I read alt is good, but still need to eliminate it.
Does another good battery show the same results?

I had this exact problem and let it go to the point the battery would drain in less than 8 hours.
Turned out to be the factory stereo. Pulled the fuse out and it is back to holding a charge again.

Now pulled the fuses in fuse box on side of dash. When pulling the one fuse for: Audio Alarm Module, Bose Relay, Courtesy Lights, console lights, glove box, Dome light, rearview mirror and radio, the draw stopped. This fuse (15 Amp) is the drain on the battery. In owners manual it is fuse #8. (The factory radio Bose was replace about 5 years ago.)
Question, any ideas from experience is it possibly a light bulb or in wiring? And can it be a just a bulb? Thanks
