Default Barn find

I have a 1969 Camaro ss396 aluminum headed big block ,4spd,manual transmission and steering ,power brakes. My father painted the car in 1978 and the car has not been moved or driven for 40 years. Can someone help me find information out about this car? Block is JH, vin is 12437N514065. C the vin tags are all I tacked. Car has hooker headers and side pipes, some type of oil school street slicks on the back, chrome bezel Stewart and Warner gauges with the oem console gauges, aluminum valve covers ,elder rock intake .crane roller rockers that are gold( I pulled a valve cover) heads are 427 aluminum casting numbers with winter signs on them,,the rear end and drive shaft are painted some off white color..hurst 4 speed shifter, New York plates when it was brought to Maine . The dates codes on all the related parts are obviously correct. I am interested in finding where it came from ect. Can anyone help. Thanks

JH is a 375 horse 396 with iron heads in a 69 Camaro. Does the # 514065 show up on the id pad of the engine? Nice car!

The id is 19w426773. T0131JH. The m21 trains number does match the vin on the car.. The tag on the cowl is 10A for the build date

Your 396 isn't the original engine to the car, the aluminum 427 heads are a nice addition though. That (JH) block was used in both the 69 Camaro and Nova.

ok thanks for the info. How can I tell that this was an L78 car? Does the numbers matching m21 tell that?Or any other options? I removed the back seat trying to find the build sheet. Just trying to figure out what it is before I decide what to do with it. It's been stored for 40 years. Thanks for the help.

"19w426773" The w is for Willow Run plant, that engine is out of a 69 Nova.

I believe he's saying the trans in his car matches the VIN of the car and not the engine that's now in it. It appears you have the transmission that originally came with his motor.
