Default Any good samaritan in or around DC?

Hi everyone,

I have a 68 camaro with a 350 that made a little joke this morning. The car started fine, went to get some gas and for a little ride. When I got home and tried to restart it, it wouldn't.

I heard two clicks and that's it. I guess it's either the alternator (but it's new) or an electrical problem - starter maybe. I was wondering if there was anyone in or around DC to give me a hand on this or advise me of a good mechanic.

Thanks

after it cooled down would it start? (starter got to hot by headers) have you tried jumping it if it still doing that, or test the battery to see if it still has a charge or drained cause of faulty alternator or wires.

Sorry it took me a while to answer.

Thanks for the tip. It did start after cooling off for a while. However, last week-end it would not start and did the double click again. EVen with cable, the car wouldn't start and I had to accelerate a little before it would.

I have the feeling the battery is weak although I still have to test it.
I wonder if you guys could recommend a good new battery and the amperage I should take.
Thanks

i would try another battery first it you have a spare lying around or another starter. maybe the solinoid in the starter is going bad because its getting hot due to the exaust.
