Default Alarm system

I'm thinking about getting the Compustar 2W900FM alarm system for my car, I'm getting actuators installed for power locks so I can get keyless entry and an alarm. What do you guys think? Also I have seen some convertible cars with laser sensor detectors before and was wondering if anyone's heard, seen, or installed those before, so that I could leave my windows down and as soon as someone reachs in the car the laser will set off the alarm. Any suggestions or ideas?

I think a more effective laser system would be the kind that when an uninvited guest reaches inside your car, it cuts off their hand.
Do you leave your car unattended, unlocked, and windows down very often?
Years ago I used to own a 69 convert. I figured out how to unlatch the top from the outside of the car in a matter of seconds, without a knife, or any damage at all to the car. But, I don't think it would be a good idea to tell how to do it here in public. There is an easy DIY fix for that design flaw though.
If thieves want in, they'll get in. And a convert. is an easy target since all it really takes is a pocket knife to pop the car open without even opening a door.

When ever I know i am going to have to leave my car for any amount of time away from its garage I use the Reggie system. Most people will not come within 20 ft of my car with the top down.

Reggie is a 120 lbs of rottweiler. He just loves to sit up nice and tall in the drivers seat when ever I get out. I just need to figure out how to get him to stop drooling on my seats. All good systems need some debugging. But people aways ask before putting their hand in my car

Sorry i can not offer any real help.

Lol, yeah that sounds more like it. Well, I live in a small town and I would be leaving my windows down but doors locked (car alarmed) when I step away from the car, but i'd only be leaving the vehicle for periods of like 5 minutes, and this would only be in daylight. Do I even need the sensor detectors?

Its always tuff to guess "if" you need it. I now live in a one light (thats a blinking light) town. Someone stole a 32 ford roadster hot rod right out of a car port on Main steet.

lol but nothing like that would happen in this small town. everyone knows everyone. I'm just worried about young jealous punks that would want to damage the interior or steal something.

Is it worth it? Well, look at it this way. Every time you come outside and your car is still there, it's doing its job.

I use a column collar. 1/8th of an inch of metal around the whole steering column, with an attachment that covers the ignition and sticks a bar through the steering wheel. Cost $110, but I justify it as I said above.

Here's a picture of the thing in action~

That is a good idea, but what I really want an alarm for is the keyless entry as this car is pretty much my daily driver
