Default add an external starter relay

Mine is a 68 Camaro 427 5 speed. I was reading an older query and a suggestion was to add a ford style starter relay. If possible please send me a wiring diagram of this spec. Thank you as always!

Ford has a externally mounts relay and GM does not have a relay it uses power directly from the ignition switch. Do you just want to add a relay? GM is an all in one unit and Ford splits up the tasks. Because of the way it works you still would need to have all the parts on the GM starter for it to work.

if heat exposure is the reason to switch to external solenoid...get a gear reduction starter. Smaller and more cranking power.

The PDF I have for part # wont load

For me, it is to adjust the valves easier. Like a permanent mechanics remote starter, wired into the car
I use a MGB starter relay off a 67 MGB with a push button on top of it.
The relay is smaller than a Ford relay but works, not sure of amps capability but it works
I use those on hotrods

Default Great ideas

The easiest first go is to install the mini starter. I have that on my 67. My problem is heat affecting the stock starter. Thanks for all of the idead
