Default 69 camaro power steering box

having a problem getting my header on because of the steering box being in the way. i was wondering does anyone know of a smaller power steering box than the stock one that i can put on? i believe the one thats on there is a 800 series box.

unbolt the steering box, install header, rebolt steering box. If you got the headers that fit the 69, then they'll fit.

Do what the rest of us, mark the area where the header contacts the steering box. Heat that area up, lay a bar across it (Floor Jack Handle) and give it couple good whacks with hammer. You'll want at least 1/4" to 3/8" of clearance.....and don't worry it won't hurt your Headers performance. Good Luck

Are 69's frame that different from 68? I have a bb and 2-1/8 primaries and no problem with fit, Hooker Headers if your wondering, and power steering

it's not a case of the headers fitting once in place...it's a problem of getting the headers to get into position around the steering box.....it's a case of having the headers bolted on when dropping the motor down or lift the motor up/pull the ps box to get the header to get into position.
