Default RE: 68 camaro rims, which offset?

We're running a Hotchkis suspension on a 1968 RS/SS with 17x7 (4" BS) on the front & 17x9.5 (5.5" BS) on the rear. P215 50 on the front and P275 40 on the rear. I've been told you can run 18x8 on the rear.
Search the internet for the following Car Craft article:
"Fitting Tires and Wheels
Biggest Meats For Your Musclecar"1969 SS posted the following information (in this forum) a few years back:Fronts
Backspacing wheel width tire size
15" 3.75 7.0 225/55
16" 5.0 8.5 245/50
17" 5.0 8.5 255/40
Rears
15" 4.875 8.5 28x10.5 (which would be around a 245 or 255)
16" 5.5 8.5 255/50
17" 5.5 9.5 275/40 Good luck finding that unique wheel!
