Default 68 or 73 project car?

Looking at a 68 or 73 camaro to put in new spec chassis and lt4 engine.

the 68 needs lots of body work for 12k and the 73 has the body work done for 13k.

my first car was a 73 but always wanted a 68.

any suggestions?

That '68 looks pretty far gone,I'd by a new Dynacorn body before trying to save that especially if you don't have the metalworking skills equipment etc. to do it yourself.

I agree if you want a 68 and to what you want an aftermarket body would be a good starting point .the 73 would be on the road sooner ,Pick your Poisson

There could be a lot of sins hidden under that paint on the 68 and the underside of the car. You will need much deeper pockets on the 68. The replacement body would cost 13-15K if we are seeing the worst of the body work it will have at lease 8k worth of metal work. To justify the 68 from a value point of view there would need to be something else we do not know about. Are there any options on the 68? Just a based on base model non-numbers matching car, the you are looking a 20K just to get the car in solid metal. buy the time you build the car with basic parts and drive line you would 30-35K deep. You can buy a complete 68 base car for that.

IMO Both cars are over priced unless there is a lot that comers with them. In my area that 68 would be $7500 and that 73 would bring 10k on the high end. I would keep looking.

The 68 is way over $. $8k for the 73 unless it has interior & all glass. I have a 1st gen but a 2nd gen would be cool with the LT4 swap
