Default 67 SS Camaro Survivor Stripe Measurements

I don't know about you, but the stripe sheet from the build book, I find a little lacking. I went to Skillmans Classic Cars where they have an actual untouched 1967 Camaro SS, and I did actual measurements at all points, or at least enough so you can do the stripes yourself. Did you ever notice when you go to a show, Every SS has stripes that are all their own.

This is an actual Untouched car. You have got to love it for information.

I have sketched as best as I can on site, I also included the actual rough sketch with measurements. Please ask if there is any questions.

DON'T DOG THE ART!!! Trying to help here.

Looking at the stripe around the SS
the gap over the front S is 9/16
the gap under the front S is 1/2
The gap over the second S is 1/2
the gap under the second S is 9/16

The opening for the SS is 2 1/8 front and back between pin stripes and between Main Stripe.

Nice job. I got to wonder if we did the same thing to another survivor if the measurements would be the same and how much variation would there be from plant to plant or even shift to shift

I am sure there would be a difference, since even the measurement from side to side was not the same. The last picture was the sheet I had with me when I went in and basically measured everything on the car. It was the only true survivor Camaro he had, but if you go to his link, he has several Camaros in the Camaro section of his collection. I was impressed on the gaps this car had. They are very good for a car produced on a moving assembly line if you compare left side to right.
You can be sure the pin stripe around would be 1/8 inch on almost all, since that was the size of tape used to lay out the stripe, but as you can see the width of the stripe did vary with the area it covered. I also measured a Mustang Cobra for a friend, and the stripes were narrow at the front, but widened as they went back. This was to compensate for the illusion you get like when you look down a road and it looks to narrow as it goes. The stripes actually compensate for this by having the roof wider than the hood or the trunk. But if you stand at either end, they look like the same size.
