Can a '67 be retrofitted to a staggared shock configuration?

I have a '75 Nova 10-bolt 8.5 posi I'm putting together. It was a mono-leaf setup but I will be cutting those pearches off and welding on new 68-69 multi-leaf pearches. I'm buying stock 68-69 multi-leaf springs and U-bolts.

Are the upper shock mounts in the same location on the 67 vs the 68-69?
Can I get staggered shocks on my 67 by simply changing to 68-69 lower shock mounts and using 2" shock extenders or buying 68-69 shocks?[/align][/align]
