Default 67 Complete Re-Wire & Regulator Question

Long time listener, first time caller…apologies for what I feel like will be a pretty lame question but I could use some help.

I’m re-wiring my 67, using the Autowire classic update kit. I’m down to the engine compartment, lights and such finished, just the engine stuff left. I’ve been following the included instructions, but just noticed that I’m left with an extra part not having been called out in the instructions. It’s the regulator and what looks like a ground bar (two screws, three contacts) component that sit between the washer fluid and the fan. When I removed all the engine bay wiring I also removed the wiring from these but in my wiring travels totally missed up until now that I’ve not been using these two things. I’m sure the instructions have not been telling me to use them either, or I would have.

My question is, do I need the regulator and whatever else this thing is and if so are there wiring diagrams available somewhere, for purchase/whatever? Short of driving to the local auto store, placing these two items on the table and just saying “help” I figured I’d ask those who have certainly run across this first.

Thanks for any advice, sure can use it…

Here's a bunch of wiring diagrams: First generation Camaro reference
As far as that voltage regulator, you need it if you are still running an external regulated alternator. If you're converting over to an internal regulator type alternator, then no you don't need the external regulator, but you'll need to rewire a couple of things.

Thanks a ton, great site...lot of documentation. I'm thinking converting is my method of choice, I'm tired of wiring.

Thanks again, great help!!!
