Default 67 Camaro Hard to get fueled

I have a 67 Camaro, fuel fill in the back.

I always have a hard time getting it fueled with the modern pumps.
I have tried used a donut gasket but i still get leaks and sometimes cannot get much if any gas in.
I hate to fuel up with gas cans.
Anybody else have this issue or a solution??

Thanks!!!

Modern gas nozzles make it difficult. I find holding the nozzle with pressure against the gas fill at a 4 or 8 o'clock position with the flow lever on the lowest flow is the most "minimal" way of spilling gas while filling. Still most of the time I need to use wet paper towel and clean up what does drip out while filling

If you live in a state with the non fume recovery type nozzles like old school pumps those work just fine

Thanks!

We have the fume recovery in our wonderful state so that is a no.
If found a rubber gasket I put between the nozzle and fill hole but i too carry a rag in the trunk to clean the spills.

While I do have rags in the trunk, I use the paper towels/water from the windshield wash stuff at gas stations.

You should check to see if the hose coupler from fill to tank is not kinked

Still with these fume recovery nozzles they are not a good fit for these 50+ year old cars. Filling on the low mode and angling the nozzle against the car firmly, for me, works most of the time with no or minimal (drops) of spill.

^^^^^This. If you live in a State that has QFC grocery store, I find their pump nozzles work great, even at high flow.
