Default 327 Inline Fuel Filter Empty

I have a clear filter between my fuel pump and my carb. After sitting for 4 or 5 days, there is no fuel in it. If I crank the engine, it eventually fires up and runs fine. Warm starts are also fine. Is the fuel draining back down towards the fuel pump? is this normal?

More than likely, fuel is evaporating due to today's recipe.

There should be some fuel in the float bowls. You might have to pump the gas pedal a few times before you start it.

On a side note, is that filter plastic or glass? If a plastic one, you might want to seriously consider replacing it, as they can be a potential fire hazard. They work great for lawn mowers though.
