Default 1969 Camaro ride height

I recently rebuilt the whole front end on my 69. My issue is I thought I should replace the coil springs since they are 40+ years old and probably in need of replacement. I rebuilt everything with stock components but now it seems that the front end sits too high. I'm not sure if it would have looked like this brand new. Can someone measure their car from floor to fender lip and let me know what dimensions you have? I realize that it will differ from mine depending on your tire size so if you could include the size tire you are running that would be helpful.

Thanks guys!!

Do you have all the weight back on the front of the car?

Yes, I do. I am sitting at 26.5 inches from floor to bottom side of fender lip with 215/70/15 on the front. I think I was about 2 inches lower with the original springs. BTW, it is a 350 non A/C car.

I have yet to hear of, or know someone who has replaced front springs on their car (not just a Camaro) without the car ending up looking like an off-roader, even though they did buy what was supposed to be the correct spring rate. Cutting off a coil, or part of a coil, was the easiest way to get the car "just right". Use a cut-off wheel, sawzall, etc., not a torch.

Old springs sag over time especially 40 years and you get used to it looking like that. News springs with 1.5 - 2 inch drop will put it where you think it should be. I would see if I could return the springs and get lowered springs before I cut on them.

Just had all DSE(Speed Level 1 kit and 3" drop rear leaf kit) stuff installed and mine measures front and rear 24" off ground to fender. I have 215/65/15 FRT and 235/60/15 REAR.
