The 327 in 68 was for the base Camaro. 350 and 396 were standerd for the SS. I guess the SS could have been ordered with a 327engine but I cant imagine why.

They were all four barrel 350s and 396s. (Never 327)

In '67 and '68 you could custom order your standard camaro with all or most of the HiPo goodies. As long as it was not ordered as an SS, the 327/275 (L-30) was the motor of choice. Combine that with the RS package and you really had something. In today's world, this original product would be a very rare find !
When this car was ordered as stated combined with the M-20 4 speed, it was called the L-30 M-20. I've got my eyes open all of the time for one of these to accompany my original matching #s '67 SS 350 convertible.

Please check dates on your posts. You are trying to help someone that has not posted on this site in almost 5 years. The topic of the Poor man SS "327/M-20/12 bolt" has been covered many times in recent years.

yeah the last time i checked around 14 were know to exsist. there are a few more cars that are close like have most of the original drivetrain or a shell with documentaion. my 68 is one of the up in the airs due to lack of documentation but still has the #s matching motor, tranny and rear end. they are amazing cars to drive the 327 was just a powerfull as the ss 350 cars since they had all of the good stuff underneath plus a few "only" things to these cars.
