RE: 1968 327 need help
I dont understand the question. It runs but doesnt idle AND when you give it gas it dies? HhhhMMMM. When was the last time it ran and what has been done to it recently? I would start with the basics' check the timing and spark plugs. Check for a vacume leak as well. You carb might need adjustment.

Or perhaps carb rebuild, also idle jets could be an issue. Also check the fuel line filters to see if they are partially clogged, that can certainly cause intermittent running problems both at idle and acceleration. A couple of years ago I had a lot of issues with the 350 in my old van, turns out that a rusty gas tank was the culprit, the rust on the inside of the tank was flaking off, van would start and somewhat idle, upon acceleration would immediately cut off from fuel starvation as the rust flakes were sucked to the elements of the in line fuel filter. The wire mesh screen at the carb was also affected with rust "dust" from the tank, shutting the engine off allowed enough rust to backflowaway from the filters, van would start again, accelerate and the entire cycle would start over again. Ultimately the solution was toflush the gas lines, replace all fuel filters, and replace the fuel tank.
