1968 Electrical Issue
I've installed new wiring and have not completely connected all components but have noticed something unusual.Does anyone know why my parking lights (side markers) come on and the temperature gage goes in a negative direction (below the first tick mark) when the brake pedal is applied?

RE: 1968 Electrical Issue
The temp gauge sounds like a grounding issue. Do you have the gauge cluster grounded yet?
The marker lights are most likely a separate problem. Recheck your connections, make sure all wires are correctly connected. If it still does not work correctly, call the manufacturer. I just finished a Painless kit that had two problems. One in the design of their harness and one incorrect connection by their build department.

Yes - I've grounded the gauge cluster to one of the mounting bolts connecting the floor shifter to the body. I'm wondering if the ground strap from the front frame to the body has continuity?

The taillight sockets ground directly to the taillight housings, if the socket doesn't make good contact with the paper thin housing it will try to find a ground anywhere, including other filament in the bulb (if its a 1157). Anything on that filaments circuit that's the least resistance to ground gets powered and the car becomes possessed. *twilight zone music*

How long did it take you to do the install, I am an electrician so I am not worried just wondering how long and how detailed the instructions are
