Default 1967 Fuel Issue

My '67 big block Camaro is driven occasionally, parts runs, car shows and cruise-ins. I was driving away from getting parts the other day and kinda got on it hard. Response was great but when I let off the throttle, the engine rpms dropped slowly and it died. Started back up after pumping the throttle about a half dozen times. It has a Holley based carburetor, blue pump with a new filter before pump and before carb. Pump is mounted below the bottom of the tank and I set pressure at the regulator to about 7 psi. I'm thinking that the tank vent may be plugged or there is some kind of restriction in the supply line to the pump. Anyone have a similar issue? I am attaching a pic of the vent valve that is supposed to be located inside a frame rail. I've never seen it on my Camaro. It was probably taken off years ago before I purchased it. I'm gonna pull my tank down and check everything out.

Sure sounds like a vapor lock of some kind.
How old are the rubber lines?

All rubber lines are new from each end of the tubing. In fact, everything is new from the tank to the carb. I'm gonna pull the tank soon and I'll share what I find.

Alky in the fuel, sure does suck for carbureted vehicles
If you have vapor lock with an electric pump
Remove one of the fuel filters, first (the one before the pump)
A California emissions fuel lines setup, with a return would help
You could up the pressure and install an additional regulator just before the carb
The Cal emissions fuel return line, could take some of the reserve pressure back to the tank
