15x8 & 15x10 best backspacing for 1968
I am ordering new rims for the rear of my vehicle. I'm either going with 15x8's and have std choices of 3.75 or 4.75 backspacing or 15x10 w/ 4.00bs. Any suggestions on what bs to choose for stock suspension. Tire size will liely be 255/60-15 but may want to go 295/50-15's.
Thanx T

ten inch rims will not fit well at all
the biggest and safest route to go, is with a 16 x 8 all the way around with 4 1/2" of backspacing and a 245/50 tire. you should be able to get a 255/50 on the same rims in back. the only rubbing you should have with this combo is on a lock-to-lock turn in front
I have had 255/60/15 on 8" rims in back on some Camaros and they havent rubbed but then I have had 245/60/15 and they have rubbed. I have seen 275/60/15 fit on a few cars though.
it all depends on your rideheight and you need to remember that all these cars are different because time has treated a lot better than others, so unless you actually take the time and have the knowhow to measure out both sides correctly, you are best off saving yourself some headaches and going with the safe choices
