Default wheels 15x7 or 15x8

ok im gonna put 235/60/15 on front and 245/60/15 on back of my 70 camaro which currently is sporting 14's. I was gonna buy 15x8 wheels all around but discount tire rep says i should put 15x7 on front and 15x8 on the back so the tires look/fit better? I was thinking the 15x7 might make the 235's balloon out a little but he says its the opposite they would stretch the tire out and not look as nice? also was wondering if the 15x8's would rub anything up front, thanks

My fronts are 17x8. 245/45/17's and 4.75" backspacing. You can run a 9" rear wheel without any issues.

I'm running 15x7 with 235 60's up front and 15x8 with 255 60's on the rear. Back spacing on both is 4"

8's will most likely rub with those tires, unless the offset is negative, and then they may rub on the frame on tight turns. I'd go with 7's and did so on my front rims.

This is my car just put on these wheels cause i got them for a smokin deal with new tires. The fronts are 15 x7 w/ 3.5 backspace and 235/60-15, and the rear is 15 x 8 w/ 3.5 backspace and 295/50-15. The rear does scrub the fenderlip, but I have absolutely no problems with the front. These wheels are going bye bye soon in favor of either a set of Centerline Warriors, or some 17" MB Old Schools. If you decide on the 15 x 7 front wheel I would suggest at least a 4" backspace because although my front tires do not scrub, they do stick outside of the fenderlip, which I do not care for very much myself.

Holy crap! you put a 295 on an 8" wheel. Thats why it rubs. The tire is puckering out. The 3.5" BS doesn't really help either. There are guys here with a 285 on an 11" wheel. I have 315's on a 11" with 5.75" BS. Oh yeah welcome!

still have not decided on my wheels/tires it seems most run the 225/60/15 or 235/60/15 up front, tire rack says 225 so im kinda leaning that way, for sure going with a 15x7 wheel on front. i was gonna put 245/60/15 on back but i saw a 70 camaro with 275/60/15 on back and thats about the width i want. if i do that will 15x8 wheel on back be good? or do i need wider?
