Default 350 engine swap?

I was wondering if i can swap out my 1995 3.4 V6 engine 4th generation, with a 350 4 bolt main out of a Z71 and still keep my five speed transmission? i was told that i would have to get a whole new transmission, and i was also told that i could use the 5 speed transmission that is in it, just change the belhousing, which would cost about $100? does anyone have any suggestions, or if i can actually do this engine swap and still use my tranmission?

no its a Z71 truck, i believe a Silverado 1500, and I'm not to sure what the transmission is, its the stock one that's in that 1995 V6 5 speed camaro. Everything is stock on the car, i just wanted to know if i could use that transmission, if i can i would change out the motor. i want more power, thats all. unless there would be an easyier cheaper way?

I'm pretty sure it can be done, I can't give you definite answer without the year of the truck. Need to be able to determine what 350 it is, LS1, LT1, Old Small Block
The stock transmission in your car is a t-5 which isn't really built to handle that power you'll eventually destroy the transmission, you can either upgrade the transmission to handle the power or you can buy a used t-56, which is a 6 speed and you'll be good to go.

A T56 swap will run around 3 grand by the time you are done with it. If you are going to do a SBC swap keep it carbed that way you dont have to deal with the ECU and Fuel Injected wiring harness. This is not a easy swap as you are going to need parts from a LT1 car and from the carbed vehical you get the engine out of. Keep in mind this would be a very large project and its going to cost you A LOT. By the time you are done you could have picked up a clean LT1 car or maybe even a LS1 car with a few miles.
