Default Help a dad help his son

Trying to help my son troubleshoot and issue with his 2010 camaro rs v6 with manual transmission. Issue is the you press the clutch down shift into gear and then begin raising your foot. About half way up, before the gear engages the clutch sticks a little and then pops up and the gear engages fine. Is this a return spring issue, bleed issue, etc.? Open to any thoughts.

I've got a 2017 ss manual and have never had this issue even when I had air in the clutch from changing all my fluid. That one just went all the way to the floor and i had to pull it back up with my foot. After properly bleeding, that one was fine. Never seen a sticky half way up clutch pedal.

Shearer,

Look for a mechanical binding of the pedal and rod connections as the clutch pedal travels. Not likely to be a problem in the hydraulics.
