Has anyone else heard the valves tapping on the 2012's when they are initially started? I was at a dealer yesterday and started the V6 and it sounded awful for the 5 minutes I listened. The salesman told me all 2012 V6's do that when started. He explained that it was during the time it took oil to get to the fifters. I hope he did not no what he was talking about but I find it as a reason to go with the 2011. Not worth a few HP for that noise. Must really be loud in the winter.

 

in my experience most car salespeople have no idea of what they are talking about, and make up stories to cover their ignorance. I suspect that the engine you listened to had some serious issues, and the salesman had no idea what the problem was, and gave you the old BS story "That is normal for these engines". lol
