Its completely new compared to those older engines. Its more closely related to the LS1 motor.

6.2 V 8 engine

Can anyone tell me if any of the older V 8 chevy engines were the base for the 6.2 engine now used in the new Camaro, like 350 or 396 or is this suppose to be a new engine, I see it is used in the pickups as well now.
