Default LT1 modifications

Wehave a 93 LT1 that we modified. It is stroked to 383, 10.6 to 1 compression, Edlebrock LT4 intake, Edlebrock LT4 RPM extreme heads, 42 lb Delphi injectors, 1.6 roller rockers, Edlebrock headers, Magnaflow exhast system, 58 mm thottle body, K&N cold air intake, Summit ignition, Dlgin prostock 1135 cam 306 INT/EXH duration, .320 lift INT/EXH, etc. Before the engine mods we pulled 245 HP and 280 Ft/lbs torque. After we made 300 hp and 345 ft/lbs of torque. I expect more. Is that all that we should be getting? The car dieds when put into gear (auto) and misses slightly unless it is accelerating. Any ideas.

Sounds like you need a tune! If you did internal mods without a tune you need to get that done ASAP! Get a local shop to do a fully dyno tune if you have somebody that has the ability around, if not you can always check into www.pcmforless.com and they have a trade in program + fee for a tuned PCM.

do you have any sort of higher stall converter? and isn't .320 lift quite small? i was thinking .600 but maybe i'm wrong here

Is that cam lift the valve lift or the lobe lift?

That is the lift at the cam. We have a 1.6 to 1 roller rockers.

If that's the cam lift then the valve lift is still .512 which isn't bad. What's the lobe sep?

I'm afraid that I'm not very familar with the cam spec's, but from the box the SAE timing is BTC 47, ABC 79, BBC 83, ATC 43, the lobe centers are INT-106 and EXH-110, the 0.050 timing is BTC 9, ABC 41, BBC 45, and ATC 5. I do know that there is enough overlap that there is very little vacuum at idle.

I had simliar work done,93 Z-28,lt4 gmpp heads ,lt4 hotcam, eld.airgap lt4 intake, bbk 52mm,bbk headers, full mac exhaust, reburned chiplus a bunch of undercar work, subframe connectors,so-on.Mine also has rough idle, has auto trans,I replaced all sensors,map,tps,cts,o2,etc,Mine just set a comp code of 64 I think means low voltage to map,I think comes from diff lift, duration cam,low vacum at idle.So my thought is to get chip/ecm redone so it will idle and maybe pass emissions...,I do have orig map senosr, and will try to hook up to comp connection wire and hook vac.pump to old sensor pump to 18 inch vac,and see if engine runs better, like orig signal from lt1.I dont have vac.pump at this time, will try later.MIne also had vac.leak at curved end from line from solonoid at evap canister, plastic line w/rubber end at throttle body.Good luck keep us posted. mine had dyno run of 334 rwhp,344 avg torque.334hp @5650 rpm, torque 344@4500 rpm. old93z greg
