Default loos connection

Hi. I'm new to this forum, and I've just got a 1995 3.8 camaro. I noticed a ticking sound comming from under my hood, so I traced it back to this loos connection. Does anyone know where this goes connected to?

That may need to be open. It might be a bleed for air since there is a tube going to it. I can't tell from the close up pic of what that part if for without know where else it goes.
Are you sure the tick is not the end of that bolt hitting

Yeah, I'm sure it's from there. When I cover the opening with my finger the noise stops, I think it's the evap purge vacuum switch. Here's another pic

You're right. That is part of the evap. I can tell by seeing that other part that its hooked to with the red plug. Do you have the under hood emissions decal? If a tube does go to it that should show you where it goes. Or can you find any plastic tube that is not hooked to anything? Its just the color inside does not look like it ever had anything.
Maybe there will be a diagram at autozone.com in the repair section.

I checked that decal, it doesn't go to anything, I guess it's suppose to be left open. Another problem I noticed is when I'm driving and I'm at part throttle or at 2k rpm's, my camaro seems to miss or backfire and stumble a bit. It gets better when I give it more gas, it seems to only happen around 2k rpm.
