K Guys and Gals i have a 79 z28 i bought in the beginning of the summer and the kid that i bought it from didn't know what was going on and tried to put a B&M floor shifter in it and never wired anything i put the switches to the shifter and got the reverse lights working but the neutral safety switch can't seem to get that working.
Everything i have read on the forums says that this year is different and alot of peeps have the same problems but no one ever post back to what they did to get it to work :( I found the pink and green wire that is the reverse switch and that works fine, but everyone says that the nss is a 12g purple and purple /white stripe wire which i found and they have a factory connection on them so i disconnect and the car still starts. Do i have the right wires and if i disconnect the car shouldn't start correct or am i wrong can someone please help the other thing is there are a few purple wires under there do i have the right one ?

Well here goes nothing I FOUND IT !!!!!! The correct purple wire you want to use is way up above the steering Coloum on a little clear plastic connector that has about 5 wires connected to it on 79 z28,s there are no purple and purple white wires going to the nss cause there isn't one again the one wire you need is wayup on that connector . Just cut wire and splice in switch in line good luck and hopefully that helps everyone a little better than all the foruoms out there that everyone had the same problem and never posted a fix :(
