Default 94 3.5 rear end swap Info

Hi I am new to the this site lol. Anyways, does anyone have info on what rear ends I would be able to use to gain positive traction along with disk brakes? Year and size of rear ends would be great, thanks!

this was copied from another website and NOT my writing or info, but it seems to be spot on

LT1 and LS1 A4 cars had either 2.73 or 3.23 rear (gotta check that out) and T56 cars had a 3.42. The LS1 rear is preferred in a lot of cases because of the brakes that usually come with it. They are pretty big at 12inch and big single piston calipers and work good. Up until '99, the 10 bolts had Auburn posi units..(from the best of my knowledge) which is a clutch type posi that needs limited slip additive. 99+ Ls1 cars had Zexel Torsen differentials which are great for strip performance. Although some SS model cars from 99+ did have options for the Auburn unit. Zexen diffs dont have clutches which can wear out in a short amount of time. Just another advantage of the zexel differential.

So essentially any 10 bolt rear would have some type of diff in it, as long as it was from a V8 car.

NOW

You will see two types of rear brake line setup, 3 Channel (non-traction control) and 4 channel (with traction control and ABS), these you can differentiate by looking at the routing of the brake lines, this will depend on what your car has already as to what will be easiest, but either will work with modifying the brake lines.

So as long as its a v8 Camaro with a 10 bolt rear it will work?

non traction control differentials have the abs sensor at the center section. the traction control has sensors on each wheel. like said any 4th gen camaro rear deferential will fit but you will want to match the kind you have for the abs to work. all v8 4th gen are posi and have disc brakes, thats not to say its not been changed so when buying used its best to make sure. try to get the brake lines on the unit. the main brake line sometimes has a different size fitting so a adapter may be needed

Fourth gen F bodies came with two different options depending on if it had 3 channel or 4 channel ABS. If yours is a 3 channel car, then it'll have one large brake line running to the back of the car and one sensor in the center of the housing. If yours has 4 channel, then it'll have two smaller brake lines running to the rear and a wheel sensor at each wheel. More than likely, yours is 3 channel, but check to make sure. 93-02 V8s will have what you're looking for. Easiest if you find one from a 94 car.

If you can find a 94 out of a 6 speed car you will get 3.42 gears. This will help your car from a dead stop. The 3.4 is a little low on torque so you should feel the higher gears. It will hurt your highway gas mileage.
