96 limited slip rear noise
The rear end on my 96 makes all kind of poping, grinding creeking noises when I back up. Really makes alot of noise after the car has been driven at highway speeds. Had two mec. tell me the clutches were dry? (I only drive this car about once or twice a month.) They said there was no real problem, just needed to get it all lubbed. The rear is full of fluid. I checked it at the top side of the housing. They suggusted I do some "donuts" or do some burnouts in reverse??? I thought the first guy was pulling my leg, but the second one told me the same.
Any other suggustions out there?

If you've never changed the oil, drain it and refill with new and add a bottle of the recommended limited slip additive. If the clutches are sticking, which is what it sounds like, then that's what you need to do. Doing donuts with old oil isn't going to help. By the way, you don't want to do donuts, you want to do figure-8's. Do that right after changing the oil to work it into the clutches.
