Default Limited slip differential + Rear Suspension

Ok i have two questions for you camaro owners when i add too much gas on dry i notice that my right rear wheel always locks, my question is would it be reasonable in terms of price to put on a limited slip differential from another camaro onto my car, and when im driving on the highway and i shfit to neutral so my engine isnt that loud i can hear my back tires not properly rotating and making noise can you guys recommend some suspension parts that will help me with this problem?

On a open differential like yours, the right rear wheel will break loose first, I don't understand what you mean by when you say it locks, and hearing the tires not rotating properly needs more explaining. However; you can always replace the open differential with a limit slip unit, or replace the entire rear axle assembly with one from a Z28 that has a limited slip diffrential, but make sure brakes, etc. will work with your car.

What i mean by when my rear wheel locks is that it can happen only in 1st gear when i accelerate too much, for example if you try to do a burnout one of my wheels will keep spinning while the other one will be locked its just a rear differential system the v6 has. Since i did do a lot of drifting and my wheel did lock a lot of times my wheels are not rotating like they should causing the rear tires to make noise. Would a z28 rear axle be easy to put in or do i need to make some adjustments? I was thinking i could find one at a junkyard just pay for the labor.

Should be a bolt in deal, the other wheel is not locking up it's just not getting power to it because the right wheel broke loose as it would with any "open" rear end.
A posi or limited slip rear will give power to both wheels but don't be too surprised if you don't get much wheel spin at all since it takes more power to get both wheels spinning and a V-6 isn't exactly a powerhouse.

check out all the wrecking yards in your area. could pick one up for a couple hundred depending on availability. yep itll boly right up. be a good time to change shocks and lower with aftermarket springs while its apart, if thats what u want.

If you are thinking about swapping in LSD, think again it is not just a drop in and play.
You said a V-6 which in most cases has a 2-series 2:73 ratio rear axle. Not to many 2-series LSD around. Yes, you can find 3-series then new gears/labor +other parts and a bill for $500/700 just for a two wheel burnout of 1/3ft with that V-6. Just be happy with what you have is my opinion.

Why is the Ls rear not a bolt in? My v6 has 3.23 ratio. I was planning a upgrade to the LS rear so if there is an issue I would like to know what it is?

I thought the end result would be better traction in general, and including snow/rain?

How does the LSD affect the ASR vs an open rear-end with ASR? Does it improve the ASR effectiveness due to two wheels spinning?

thanks for the info so in conclusion the ls rear end is a bolt on that will fit on my car is there a specific year i should be looking for in the junkyard or the bolt pattern does not get modified in the newer versions? I will be putting new shocks because any bump i hit on the road is harsh but i do not know about springs i have no intention of lowering the car in Canada. We have some bad winters and i have gotten stuck several times, one of the worst times is when i drove into a park with a very steep and icy entrance it took 3 people sitting in my trunk and about 10 tries to drive out total pain in the ***, I can only imagine how bad it would be if my car was lowered.

theres a thread on here that is the same as this. i keep gettin u two mixed up. it would probly be best to try and get one from your yr if u can. the newer 4th gens have a more advanced traction control and the sensors are a little different. they all bolt up the same so u need to make sure your wiring and sensors will hook up.
