Tire Size for Corvette Rims
I just got a set of C5 Corvette rims and was wondering what size tires I can put on them without rubbing. Rims are 17x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear. My car is a 95 Camaro V6. For all you 4th gen owners out there, anybody running Corvette rims? Any rubbing or fitment issues? All input is appreciated.
I can tell you in the back the biggest you could run is around a 295 width, I run a 275/35-18 on mine just b/c they are sooo much cheaper and really fit the rim good. I would also recomend for your car since it a V6 and traction wont be that much of an issue (no offence) a brand called Riken. They are very cheap I picked up mine for around 250 I think maybe less. I have z06 rims here is a picture from the back to show you how they look. For the front I would say something like a 245/35-17 would be good.

for a V6 id go 245/45/17 rear 235/45 up front. o_0 gawwd 35's are so low... the ride quality isn't effected at all?
Damn those rims really set off that T/A
you should get a ws6 hood for it.

The 265/35's for me when I had them on the front were nice looking as far as the profile but the sidewall wasn't enough protection for pot holes etc, plus having 275/40's in the rear screwed with my ABS and Traction Control, so now I'm running 275/40/18's all the way around for rim protection, ABS/Trac. Cont., and rotation. although I want to go alot wider in the back like maybe 315's so I can stay hooked up on the road when that lead ball suddenly rolls out of my pocket and on to my foot[8D]
Also, you may take a look at TireRack.com for tires, that's the only place I get mine, in town is too pricey... they're very reasonably priced. I run the Avon M550's (275/40/18) all the way around and for a complete set is like $650 shipped.

Lol I can run off 255s in an AUTOMATIC like it's nothing with a V6... So there is power to be had xD.
But in all honesty... Try to get 1 size all the way around if you can. But if not...
275/45/18 for the back - The taller tire exagerates the back even more and makes your car look more agressive (I think so anyways).
245/40/17 for the front
Tire brand I recommend that isn't too costly are Falken. A bit more expensive than the Riken brand, but I love the Falken tires on my car. And you get OUTSTANDING traction with them.
But this is just my opinon =)
