How To: Molding Delete
The other day I decided to do a pinstripe and Side Molding delete:
BEFORE
Molding that was yellowing:
I used a fishing line to get it off; Go back and forth in a sawing motion:
After That I used Goo Gone Extreme to remove the adhesive:
(It didn't harm my paint t all and left no marks)
(I ran out half way through and used Goo Gone Pro Power and it was horrible.
Had to use so much to get anywhere.
BUT DO NOT USE GOOF OFF!!
That Stuff is really bad on paint or anything you want to keep nice and shiny.
Comes Out Like This:
Moving On to the Door:
Friend helping me with the pin striping into the night:
What it came out like:
Only problem was with the driver side last piece. Looks like someone re sprayed the quarter panel at one time and cleared over the molding. Not easy to see if your not looking for it, But I'll get it out eventually:
The key here is to take your time!
Just needs a little bit of elbow grease and Before you know it, Its off.
I love it!
I think it gives a much cleaner look than the molding being there.
Especially with the discoloration.
It only takes 1-2 Hours, But the Pin striping is why Were were working into the night. That stuff is a whole other story.
Best of luck Ya'll
