Keep the molding?
I have a 1980 z28 camaro and I was wondering what you guys thought about chrome molding? I'm going to paint the car metallic black and I've ordered black wheels for it if that affects anyone's decision.

this is how my car is going to look, hopefully lol (nicer than the photoshop stripes though lol).

I'm not a big fan of the all blacked out look myself. I left all the chrome on mine and like the contrast of chrome and black.
For the record Z28's had black around the windshield and back window. Crome around the side glass. I bead blasted everything on my 78 and painted it all low gloss black. I loved it back then. It looks dated to me now and my 80 will get everything back the way it came.
Yeah thats whats on it now, however its kinda chipped and faded, and I have a decent set of chrome moldings from a 78 parts camaro. I do like the black look, do you guys think its worth re-painting what I have?
Second question kinda related to black/chrome schemes. The original handles are chrome with a black stripe, however I can only find chrome on the internet. So these are my options so far:
-Continue to search internet for original handles.
-I have a set of chrome handles from the 78 that I could put on
-Considering getting keyless entry when I get the security system and then shaving the door handles. Or maybe leave them on for looks?

I simply bought the chrome handles and used a piece of electrical tape to fill the center. It's slightly wider so I matched up one side and then used a razor blade to trim the ends and the other edge to fit. Lasts about 10 years and then I redo it.
